Incomprehensible Labour by Specific Means deals with the theme of labour in the contemporary. It critically points out the relationship between the abstraction of advanced automation and the concreteness of human labour. Labour that is not always conscious and visible, but often unconscious and invisible. At the same time, this video highlights the fetishization of technology and performance, the result is invisible and unimportant. Work for the sake of work, video for the sake of work, art for the sake of art. Corporate imaginings of the robotic arm, the cloud and the fully automated warehouse contrast with everyday human labour, whether collective and conscious or individual and unconscious.
